Submission & Evaluation
There are three steps to the application process.
Step 1: The submission deadline for the two-page proposals in round 1 ended on the 1st March 2024.
Your submission will be reviewed by MS and innovation experts and you will be notified of the result. Here is what you can expect if your proposal makes it to the next round:
Step 2: If your proposal has been selected for the 2nd round, we will reach out to you requesting more specific details. These will include a detailed full proposal and a two-minute video recording covering the key aspects of your research or business—which can be done easily with a smartphone. We will provide more information and guidance on the submission of the full proposal and the short video by email.
Step 3: If your proposal is chosen for the final round of review, you will be contacted. You will need to prepare a 10-minute pitch to give virtually to a mixed panel of Roche and Genentech experts and an external steering committee of MS and innovation experts. This will be followed by 10 minutes for questions.
Each submission will be reviewed thoroughly, with the subsequent funding and support depending on the recommendations of the panel. The ultimate decision will be made by Roche and Genentech.
Proposals must have a direct and short-to middle-term (up to 5 year) positive impact with milestones to measure this impact clearly defined for the two focus areas.
Provide early detection of disease worsening, thus enabling early and efficient treatment
Improve monitoring and prediction of the impact of disease on people's lives, including disability trajectories
